Brother Bear is the closest of our spirit relations, or so the Native Elders taught. They are the only animal on Turtle Island (The Americas) who can stand on two legs. Through their hibernation they teach patience. They are loving and defensive of their young, yet they have a ferocious side. Bears know nothing about rush and haste for its own sake. Their spirit lesson is that of resourcefulness, as they live on what they can find, wherever they happen to be. The bear is seen as a male entity and spirit contact. Its warrior spirit gives guidance to both men and women.
